  1. I live in the Toledo are, this is The Zone’s 2nd return to The Toledo area airwaves. The Zone Orginally debuted on 106.5fm WRWK(now WLQR) in November of 2001, replacing the low rated Rock 106. The station lasted untill Summer of 2009 when The Zone was taken off for a Simulcast of Sports talk 1470 The Ticket. The Zone was moved to 94.5fm WXKR’s HD-2 channel, the HD-1 channel is a classic rock station.

In Spring of 2009, Cumulus boradcasting traded 1560am WTOD to a religious organization in return for the 100.7fm Translator. The station position moved to 100.9fm and The Zone debuted soon after. Complaints about interference forced them to move back to the 100.7fm dial postion.

After less then a year The Zone was moved to WXKR HD-3, 100.7fm began stunting for a couple days, Once The stunting ended 100.7 The Vibe debuted with Lady Gaga’s “born this way”. The Vibe built a small audience, by the summer of 2011 infamous radio host Andrew Z(formally of 92.5 Kiss fm) made a return to Toledo radio on The Vibe. The Vibe was voted station of The Year by the Toledo city paper. Despite this, The Vibe was never really any threat to powerhouse CHR 92.5 Kiss fm coupled with a Relgious broadcaster launching a new station on 88.9fm, thus making it hard to hear 89x 88.7fm, a Modern rock station out of WIndsor Ontario. Thus, The Zone returned to 100.7.
