I thought Quick 96 was stupid. It was even worse than KIRO 7’s “News Out of The Box” format from back in ’93.

Perhaps so, but it was likely meant to be that way. They wanted a stunt that caught attention, but not one that might tip off competitors. Numbered snippets of songs is in no way a viable format, but it certainly worked as a time-filler.
